Axie Infinity AOC Event Draws Scam Accusations

Axie Infinity brings back the AOC roll in Origins, offering Origin Axie and Mystic rewards as players revive scam and Ponzi accusations.

A screenshot of the Axie Infinity game interface shows an overlay headline reading 'AXIE INFINITY CRYPTO GAME AOC EVENT DRAWS SCAM ACCUSATIONS,' set against a background featuring character stats, menu icons like Shop and Inventory, three partially visible creatures in a grassy outdoor environment.

On August 24, 2026, Axie Infinity: Origins announced that the AOC roll is returning [1]. The AOC roll offers players 5 AOC, 1 Origin Axie, and 6 chances at a Mystic part. The studio also recently highlighted that Mystic Axies remain a special part of Axie history [2][3]. They celebrated getting a Mystic Axie in an April 1 post. They’ve also been working on new content, like Atia’s Legacy. That update brings evolved gameplay and a Risk-to-Earn model that uses AXS and bAXS. The return of the AOC roll brings the focus back to the Origins game mode’s limited-time event.

What Is the Axie Infinity AOC Roll?

The AOC roll is an event in Axie Infinity: Origins that only lasts for a short time. This event gives players a chance to win many different, in-game rewards. This returning AOC roll gives you 5 AOC, 1 Origin Axie and 6 chances to get a part. Because of this event rare Axie rewards like Origin Axies and Mystic parts are becoming very important for Axie Infinity: Origins players.

Axie Infinity: Origins Uses a Stylized 2D Cartoon Art Style

Following the return of the AOC roll, the art direction uses a stylized 2D cartoon look. It has painted backgrounds and a slightly angled side-view. This keeps combat readable without flattening the scene. The little Axie creatures have round bodies and oversized eyes. They have tiny bits of flora or armor stuck on to tell them apart. Their clean silhouettes make their attacks feel weighty. The card UI gets the same attention. Ability illustrations, energy counters, and damage numbers sit right on a warm arena filled with wooden stands and hanging banners. The little Axie creatures never fight the painted backdrop behind them. I’d say this world is playful and colorful. It knows when to stay busy and when to pull back and let the scenery breathe.

Round-bodied Axies with oversized eyes pop against painted battle arenas.

Axie Infinity Players Remain Divided Over the Crypto Game

Despite all the hype about the art and character design, players still say bugs and update issues make it unplayable at times [4]. Fans are split, with some calling it a fun time-killer while others call it a scam or Ponzi scheme [5]. They also complain that earning rewards like SLP got worse, and many say they lost serious money on it [6]. Reviewers point out the game gets repetitive and unbalanced, but a few still stick with it after years [4].

Our shill detection shows a cluster of vague, hype-heavy 5-star reviews with generic praise and no specific gameplay details. These are typical of fake, paid endorsements.
We also checked video comments and found nearly all of them are critical or genuine reactions about Axie Infinity [7]. Only one comment used promotional engagement bait.

Amid the mixed player sentiment, Axie Infinity’s token had been sliding behind other gaming tokens. Smooth Love Potion stayed flat and also lagged. After the news came out, both of them moved upward.

Axie Infinity AOC Event Draws Mixed Player Reactions

OK, prices aside, here’s what actually went down. Some people are genuinely hyped up. One commenter said they “can’t wait” and another said they had been “waiting on this for a while” [8][9]. But a whole bunch of other folks are throwing serious shade. A lot of people are calling it a “scam” or a “Ponzi scheme” over again [10][11]. Others are still mad about the old SLP rewards and just want those back instead of more events [6].

You can feel the split: some players are having fun and are curious, but plenty of others are still salty about past losses. The community is definitely not all on the same page with this one.

So yeah, it’s kind of a classic move for Axie Infinity to roll the dice again with this AOC event. Whether you see it as a fun lottery or a cynical ploy to distract from the game’s problems, it is happening. The game keeps finding new ways to shake things up, but honestly, the crowd remains divided. For now, the Mystic part chase is back on, but don’t be surprised if the hype fizzles out fast.
