What the token actually does
A screenshot of the VeVe app interface displays three panels highlighting its features, including digital collectibles from shows like Adventure Time, an augmented reality Harley Quinn figure, and an officially licensed Marvel Punisher item with a 3D model standing next to the screen.
ECOMI issues OMI. The token is used across VeVe, an app for buying and trading licensed digital collectibles from more than 200 brands. [4] ECOMI says some collectible sales burn OMI, and so does every Gem bought with USDC. It puts the total burned so far at more than 440B OMI. [5] Holders can stake at least 1,000,000 OMI for 3 months to 2 years. Staking earns points toward VeVe collectibles and Gems each season. [4]

More on the story
In its launch post, ECOMI said OMI Leaderboard Rewards, which had paid out more than 1 billion OMI, would close, and OMI-to-Gem swaps would end. It said an audit by Hacken found no critical, high or medium issues in the staking contract. [2] Season 1 runs to the 31st of December 2026. Stakers who leave early lose 20% of their staked OMI, which is burned, and give up the season’s rewards unless they stake again before it closes. [3] On the 5th of October 2026, ECOMI said 760 stakers had locked 17.78B OMI and the Gem pool had grown to 130,000. The same day, the first staker left early, and 225,007 OMI was burned. [6]
