Top Stories

Axie: DoM 2.0 Update

Axie Infinity launched the DoM 2.0 update on September 10 after a full rebuild. The update introduced a new Kilnbane boss encounter, halved Key prices, and overhauled the Bounty Board. Quest points across all Bounty Board tiers increased from a 15-to-900 range to 60 to 3,000, allowing players to earn bAXS alongside their share of the DoM Weekly Prize Pool. A launch event running through October 22 offers a $5,000 prize pool, split between $2,500 USDC and $2,500 AXS for the top 100 players, with raffle prizes pushing total rewards past $6,000. The October 22 end date gives players roughly six weeks to compete for the top-100 tier.

Nakamoto Games Five-Title Pipeline

Nakamoto Games confirmed on September 8 that five titles are in active development. Bigger Bite is the nearest launch, targeted for September 21, with Sugar Rush Defense in final QA and one additional title slated for October. The remaining two titles are planned for November. The studio continued building through the crypto winter while optimizing operations and streamlining its workforce to run multiple product tracks in parallel. Bigger Bite’s September 21 release is the first dated milestone in this sequence.

Battle Bears Gold Steam Launch

Battle Bears Gold locked in a cross-platform date on September 7. The studio announced that BBG will launch on Steam on November 4, featuring a new Sky Pirates Map. The team is asking the community to wishlist the title on Steam to build pre-launch visibility ahead of the release. November 4 remains the concrete release date for the team.

Ryoshi Royale Adds Zombie Squad NFT Partnership

Ryoshi Royale on the Cronos chain brought the Zombie Squad NFT collection on board as a new partner on September 10. The announcement framed Zombie Squad as the latest addition in a rotating partner-collection model on Cronos. This slots the collection into Ryoshi Royale’s existing partner structure alongside prior NFT partners.

What to watch

Nakamoto Games has Bigger Bite launching on September 21, one additional title targeted for October, and the remaining two planned for November. Axie Infinity’s DoM 2.0 launch event, carrying over $6,000 in combined rewards, runs through October 22. Battle Bears Gold sets its Steam release for November 4 with a new Sky Pirates Map, while the team asks the community to wishlist the title ahead of the date.

Wash Trading Watch

Scored 0-100

Wash trading is fake volume: the same trader on both sides of a deal, making a token look busier than it is. We score every gaming token 0-100 on how strongly its market data shows that pattern. A high score is a flag for further scrutiny, never proof of wrongdoing. More on wash trading

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the JRPG Gaming Index?

The JRPG Gaming Index (GTI-20) is a proprietary, market-cap-weighted benchmark of the top 20 crypto and web3 gaming tokens by market cap, drawn from a broader universe of 480 tokens we track across the sector, an S&P 500 for blockchain gaming. For this report week it closed at 10.84, down 2.71% week-over-week.

How is wash trading detected?

We score each gaming token from 0 to 100 on wash-trading risk, using on-chain and market-microstructure signals: abnormal volume spikes, price/volume divergence, and volume-to-holder ratios. Each token lands in one of four buckets: minimal, some, many, or severe. This week we flagged 22 tokens. The scores are advisory, not accusations of fraud.

How is funding tracked?

JRPG captures the full spectrum of capital entering crypto gaming (venture rounds, grants, airdrops, and tournament prizes), from venture rounds down to the smallest community pools: no minimum threshold, not just headline VC deals. Each event is verified, valued in USD, and given a confidence rating. This week logged $7,422.50 across 8 events.

Can I cite or republish this report?

Yes. The JRPG Crypto Games Report is free to cite and republish with attribution to the "JRPG Crypto Games Report" and a link back to the original report URL. A ready-to-paste citation is provided in the Methodology & Cite section.
