Pudgy Penguins’ Abstract Chain to Shut Down on 15 December 2026

Abstract said on X on the 6th of October 2026 that it was winding down. The Abstract chain would close on the 15th of December 2026. Users who had not moved their assets off it by then would lose access to them. ^[1] Igloo, Inc., the company behind Pudgy Penguins and PENGU, said winding Abstract down would return its full focus to Pudgy Penguins, Pudgy NFTs and PENGU. ^[2]

The chain will shut down on December 15th, 2026, any funds not bridged by this date will be inaccessible. ^[1]

PENGU is the official coin of Pudgy Penguins.

Pudgy Penguins calls PENGU “a symbol for community, memes, and good vibes” that lets fans join its community, which it calls The Huddle. Its site says 13.69% of the total supply has been burned. ^[5] Pudgy Penguins says the token is intended for fun and entertainment only and has no commercial value. It also says the Pudgy Penguins companies own a significant amount of it. ^[6] The total supply is 88,888,888,888 PENGU. Pudgy Penguins gave 25.9% to its own community and 24.12% to other communities. It set aside 17.8% for its current and future team and 11.48% for the company. Those two shares unlock over three years, with nothing released in the first year, the launch post says. ^[7] PENGU’s linked games include Pudgy World and Pengu Clash, and both are free to play. Pudgy World has a marketplace where players can buy and sell the traits they collect.

Igloo said it had lost tens of millions of dollars over the last two years keeping Abstract running. ^[2] Igloo CEO Luca Netz said Igloo had funded Abstract for the last 18 months. He said Igloo decided against launching a token or pursuing an ICO for Abstract. In his view, a token only works if something drives demand to it. Launching a token without conviction would have been a disservice to the community, he said. ^[4] Abstract said users could bridge out through the Migration Hub at migrate.abs.xyz or through the native bridge, which has a 3-hour delay. It said its engineering and ecosystem team would help Abstract-based projects move to other chains. Abstract warned users to beware of impersonation, fake migration sites and DMs claiming to represent Abstract, and to use only the official link. ^[1] There is no information yet on what happens to Pudgy World’s items on Abstract.
