Katana Inu Game: Samurai Task Force Due Next Week

Katana Inu said on the 27th of October 2026 that the first of its 10 upcoming games would come out next week. The game, Katana Inu: Samurai Task Force, would be free to play. It is an idle battler. A squad of Katana Inu characters would fight on its own in a corner of the screen while the player works. It would launch on Windows, with Mac and mobile versions “coming soon”. ^[1]

The game’s first $1,000 of income “will get burned in $KATA”. A burn removes tokens from the supply for good. On top of that, 10% of the game’s profits would go to buying KATA back and burning it. ^[1] KATA’s market capitalisation, the value of all KATA in circulation, was $1,522,724.97 at the last reading of the 27th of October 2026. ^[2] Since the game was announced that day, KATA has fallen 4.6%, from $0.00004049 on the 26th to $0.00003861 on the 27th of October 2026.

What the token actually does

KATA is the token of Katana Inu, a free-to-play multiplayer action game on PC. The game’s Web3 launcher adds KATA and NFTs, which the project says are optional. ^[4]

Katana Inu says KATA will buy in-game items and pay tournament entry fees. Players also use it to buy and sell the game’s NFTs. To earn KATA by playing, a player has to hold KATA and Katana Inu NFTs, and reach level 5. All of these features are still in development and may have bugs. Staking has been paused since early 2023, and holders who still have KATA staked can withdraw it at staking.katanainu.com. ^[5]

Samurai Task Force would add another use. Katana Inu said players who hold $1,000 or more in KATA, or three Takeru NFTs, would get 40% off all purchases and free items. Holding $300 or more in KATA, or one Takeru NFT, would get 15% off. Owners of Takeru and Forge NFTs would get two skins for free. ^[1]

More on the story

Katana Inu said players would check in to upgrade heroes, fight bosses and climb a global leaderboard, and could earn KATA. The game would have 5 leagues, 10 honor ranks and 30 free heroes, with more leagues to come. Each season’s leaderboard would pay prizes in KATA. Players could also buy optional in-game items and a Founder’s Pack to support the team. ^[1]

Samurai Task Force is one of the team’s side games. On the 15th of October 2026, Katana Inu said it had more than 10 of them in development, for mobile, browser and PC. It named two, Katana Inu Strikers and Katana Inu Rally, and expected its first game in about two weeks. ^[6] A post on the 26th of October 2026 promised the launch date of one of the games for the next day. ^[7] Its next post named a week, not a date. ^[1]
