WEMIX News: Wemade’s Sale to NeoPulse Pushed to December

The sale of Wemade, the company behind WEMIX, is now set to close two months later than planned. ^[5] Wemade’s founder, Park Kwan-ho, agreed on the 30th of June 2026 to sell his stake to a company called NeoPulse for 920 billion won, about $688 million. ^{[2] [4]} The sale was meant to close on the 30th of October 2026. In a filing on the 14th of October 2026, Wemade moved that to the 30th of December 2026. ^[1] It said the conditions that must be met before the sale can close were taking longer than planned, and that the date could move again. ^[1] It did not say which conditions. ^[5] WEMIX has fallen 21.6% since the WEMIX$ exploit of the 26th of July 2026, from $0.2329 to $0.1825 by the 14th of October 2026. ^[7] The wider gaming market fell 6.9% over the same days.

More on the story

NeoPulse is a Korean company owned by Shengsong Investment, an investment firm in Hong Kong. ^[4] Its main backer is Kingnet, a Chinese game company. ^[3] Kingnet and Wemade spent ten years in a legal dispute over the game Legend of Mir 2, which Kingnet settled with a payment in April 2026. ^[3] NeoPulse said it planned to make new games for markets including China. ^[4]

According to Asia Economy, a Korean news site, the games industry thinks China is the holdup. ^[3] Kingnet needs its government’s approval to invest abroad and to send the money out of China. ^[3] That takes one to three months at the quickest, and large deals can take several months or more. ^[3]

The deal could still fall through. In September 2026, Kingnet told Chinese regulators that its investment could be delayed, changed or ended if the approvals did not come. ^[2] A Wemade representative told Asia Economy that, as far as the company knew, both sides still meant to finish the deal. ^[3] The representative said it could even close sooner if the remaining conditions are met early. ^[3]

NeoPulse paid a 92 billion won deposit when the deal was signed. The other 828 billion won is due on the closing day. ^[1] It would then own 40.25% of Wemade, more than anyone else, and choose new board members at a shareholders’ meeting. ^[1]

Wemade’s staff formed a union in September 2026. ^[3] It plans to ask the company to promise no layoffs because of the sale. ^[3] It also wants Wemade to confirm that the WEMIX business and other major teams will keep their staff and carry on. ^[3]
