The Axie Vibeathon game jam drew 91 new Axie Infinity games competing for 20,000 bAXS. Here's what we know, plus fan picks for the eight finalists.
On 5 October 2026, Axie Infinity announced on its official X account that 91 new Axie Infinity games are competing in the Vibeathon, with 20,000 bAXS in prizes and eight finalists still to be picked [1]. The post asked followers to name their picks for those finalists. The team has news on its existing games too. Classic rewards switched from AXS to bAXS starting 7 April 2026 [2], and a second Atia’s Legacy playtest is on the way with new mechanics, bosses, a dedicated dungeon mode, and more weapons [3]. The Vibeathon post doesn’t name any finalists or share a schedule yet. It’s all about the bAXS prize pool and getting the community to guess.

The Axies themselves show up in every Axie game, so their look matters. Axie Infinity uses a bright 2D cartoon style that is playful and exaggerated, with a charming Monster Sanctuary feel. The characters have big, expressive features and live in lush environments full of greenery. The mood is light and whimsical, mixing fun character design with lots of energy, and it’s easy for anyone to enjoy.
Expressive cartoon faces and dense, leafy worlds make striking art.

The art gets plenty of love, but players are split on Axie Infinity itself. Some call the game a fun distraction [4], and others say battles can get really tough. The mechanics are easy to pick up but hard to master, which keeps a lot of players hooked [4]. On the downside, many users report bugs, broken card effects, and update problems that mess with gameplay and quest rewards [4]. Plenty of players praise the art and story, but some are frustrated that stronger enemies make fights feel unfair [4].
Shill detection suggests most reviews are genuine or focused on bug reports, though a few generic, overly positive comments stand out as possibly fake [5].
… game is just game or u can sell your pet? [4]

AXS, the token behind the Axie Infinity ecosystem, has had a rough stretch lately. It has moved roughly in step with other gaming tokens, but it has had trouble holding on to its momentum.

The Vibeathon is a game jam for building new Axie Infinity games, and the announcement art makes that pretty clear. It shows Axies riding a computer monitor, one of them carrying a spear, with a bold < / > code symbol on the screen. Big text reads BUILD the NEXT GENERATION of AXIE GAMES, next to a timeline showing 90 new Axie games made in 3 weeks.
The replies already read like a list of favorite Axie games. One user gave AxieZ some love [6], while another called Axie Royale the best game, adding, “I have no proof but I also have no doubts haha” [7]. A different reply just said “probá AxieZ! :)” [8]. Others stayed skeptical and answered with a side-eye emoji [9].

Whichever Axie Infinity games make the final eight, they’ll have a big audience waiting. The Axie Infinity Discord has 638,070 members, and its YouTube channel has nearly 5 million subscribers.
According to a 2021 research report, Axie Infinity lets players breed any two existing Axies to create a new one. Each Axie belongs to one of nine classes and has six body parts plus a body shape. The report noted that the game had passed 2 million daily active users and that Sky Mavis raised a $7.5 million Series A round in May 2021.
A 2022 report from Rest of World covered the ownership side of Axie Infinity, saying players would own their Axie characters and any future in-game assets. It also described how the game grew into a more complex card-battle system after the initial version launched in October of that year. The same report revealed that all four of Sky Mavis’ validators were compromised, along with a third-party validator run by the Axie DAO.
